  4.     Rlab is _not_ a clone of languages such as those used by tools
  5.     like MATLAB or matrix_X/Xmath. However, as Rlab focuses on
  6.     creating a good experimental environment (or laboratory) in
  7.     which to do matrix math, it can be called "MATLAB-like" since
  8.     the programming language possesses similar operators and
  9.     concepts.  Extensive use has been made of the LAPACK, FFTPACK
  10.     and RANLIB sources available from netlib.

  12.     The most significant difference between the other proprietary
  13.     tools and RLaB is the GNU Copyleft.
